"Every, object, every corner, every detail should inspire, captivate, and tell a story"

- Michael Roberts

Obsolete Collective was born from the world created by British-born curator and hotelier Michael Roberts, whose life and travels - from London to Venezuela, Barcelona, and eventually Mallorca - shaped a deeply personal approach to design, hospitality, and storytelling. Over decades spent collecting objects, discovering makers, and building spaces, he formed a philosophy rooted less in traditional retail and more in atmosphere, emotion, and human connection. After settling in Valldemossa in the late 1980s, Michael and his wife Maria created Son Viscos - an intimate agroturismo that began as their family home and evolved into a quiet, lived-in world of objects, memories, and understated beauty. In 2015, that way of living naturally evolved into Obsolete - not a traditional retail concept, but a creative platform shaped by intuition, travel, and collecting. What began as a personal language of objects has since grown into a series of immersive spaces across Mallorca and Ibiza.

Today, Obsolete Collective continues this vision through evolving retail residencies, pop-ups, and collaborations. Each space brings together fashion, wellness, beauty, and design within intimate, residential environments that invite discovery, slow connection, and a sense of belonging.
